I know that we love Boise, and I'm not saying that we should all leave, but I am saying that it's getting kind of expensive to live here. At what point is it too expensive to stay? Where is the line where you decide that enough is enough and your money isn't going far enough anymore?

Sometimes you come home from work after a long day and look around and think, "I work too hard to be this broke." Or "I make more money than I ever have, and I still need a roommate to survive."
What if I told you that the bungalow house you rent in Boise could be traded in for a massive home with a resort-style pool, gourmet kitchen, and a whole lot of land if you were willing to live in San Antonio, Texas? The average rental home in Boise costs the same or more than one of those exclusive rentals in the Alamo City, and there's no state income tax either.
Cities like Indianapolis, Indiana, or the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina have luxury apartments with community amenities you would never be able to afford if you were paying for the average rental home in Boise.
If you want to stay in Boise, you could ask for a raise, take a second job, or do a side hustle. Just remember that there are only so many hours in a day. If you want to eventually enjoy the fruits of your labor, you better hope that the side hustle becomes your only hustle or that you get that promotion you've been angling for.
