Boise State Linebacker Could be Drafted by the Cowboys or Bears
The NFL Draft experts are making educated guesses where this year's eligible players will end up, and there's a lot of buzz that a Boise State linebacker could be playing in Dallas or Chicago this fall. Or Pittsburgh or New England. Or none of the above.
Leighton Vander Esch had a great season at Boise State, and a lot of the analysts are saying he'll just keep getting better as a grows into an NFL career. Remember that game last fall against the Washington State Cougars? That might have been the game of his LIFE, with 16 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. And another 16 tackles against Fresno State with an interception that sealed the game. He's good.
One blogger thinks Vander Esch could go to the Dallas Cowboys with the 19th pick in the NFL Draft.
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has Vander Esch going to the Chicago Bears at #8, which would make him a Top Ten pick, and very rich.
Others think he could go to New England with the 31st pick, or to Pittsburgh at #28.
Everyone seems to agree that our LVE will be drafted by an NFL team on the first day, which is every college player's goal when they declare for the draft. He's already been to Arlington to visit the Dallas Cowboys' facility, which is always a good sign.
The NFL Draft starts at 6 p.m. MST on Thursday, April 26th and the opening night will be televised on NFL Network, FOX, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and every sports bar will have it on. The draft runs through Saturday, April 28th.
We'll be watching to see where the Broncos end up. If Vander Esch becomes a Dallas Cowboy, will you become a fan? Maybe....until they play the Seahawks.
