Here we are, nearing the end of 2022 and Boise still doesn't have a professional sports team. With the way our Broncos have been playing this season, I would say that our fanbase is more than ready to support a professional sports team. Can you imagine the traditions we would come up with a la the Bills Mafia?

I'm not saying that the people of Boise are destined to dive onto tables to celebrate their team but wouldn't it at least be amazing? My thing is - whether we like it or not, the Treasure Valley is going to continue to grow and we may as well embrace it in the form of a professional sports team. What's the worst that can happen?

Some of my best memories as a kid are of the professional sporting events I had the privilege of attending. It's not just the memory of the game either but rather all that comes with it and I would challenge anyone to tell me that the Treasure Valley can't contribute to those potentially amazing memories.

Why Would Anyone Be Against It?

Point blank? Cost. It's no secret that supporting a pro sports team is expensive when you factor in funding an actual stadium/arena for the team to play in. You also have the concern of locals who are worried about Boise getting too much of the spotlight which could result in Boise attracting more people than locals are already comfortable with.

What do you think? Is 2023 the year that Boise gets a professional sports team? Let's dive into the top reasons that Boise is ready to support a pro sports team.
