Boise Family Creates ‘Little Free Pantry’ for Those in Need

A Boise family is helping out those in need with an amazing idea sparked by their 3-year-old son, Miles. According to KTVB, the Miller family decided to ask guests who were attending Miles' birthday to bring canned goods for those in need instead of traditional birthday gifts.

In order for those donations to get to the hands of those who need it most, the Millers built a 'Little Free Pantry' with $40 and recycled materials next their community garden in Boise. The Miller family along with other neighbors keep it stocked with food and toiletries and those who stop by can take what they need or leave what they'd like.

They've even had their family dentist donate toothbrushes for the pantry. According to KTVB, toward the end of the month it's always nearly empty. They also hope that other families in different neighborhoods take the 'Little Free Pantry' concept and create their own free pantries.
