New Mexico football is averaging more passing yards than rushing yards in well it seems for ever!

Once a triple option offense the Lobo's have switched to more of a spread option system. That's right, the word option is still part of the offensive verbiage but it just means they're more likely to pass the football than ever before.

New Mexico head coach Bob Davie brought in a new offensive coordinator named Calvin Magee and he's made some significant changes but there is still an option component the Broncos have to be prepared to face.

Boise State STUD end Curtis Weaver told media members the New Mexico offense is more like a regular offense than the triple option look of the past.

The look has given BSU trouble and although the Broncos are 8-1 all time against the Lobos, there have been some close calls because of the physical nature of the triple option.

The Lobo's currently average 163 yards rushing and 198 yards passing a game as they adapt to their new look.

Make no mistake, this is a dangerous game for Boise State. It's a road-tweener game. By tweener I mean it's a must win game on the road sandwiched between two home games versus ranked opponents. Boise State took care of 16th ranked Fresno state but they can't afford to look forward the no.14 Utah State a week from Saturday.

That's why every player I've interviewed this week won't even consider talking about the overall picture, they can't see past Friday night.
