Like most people when the season begins to change and the weather feels more like Fall, I think a Pumpkin Spice Latte sounds good. They smell delicious and taste like heaven. That is until you find out just how hard it is to burn one of those drinks off. One Grande Pumpkin Space Latte, made with 2% milk with whipped cream, has 380 calories, 14 grams of fat and 50 grams of sugar. The last part is what shocked me the most, 50 grams of sugar in one drink.

In a report done by Cheat Sheet, they details exactly how many minutes you will have to work on a variety of exercises to burn just one Pumpkin Spice Latte:

  • 30 minutes of jump rope
  • 76 flights of stairs
  • 35 minutes of rowing
  • 38 minutes of burpees
  • 36 minutes of running intervals
  • 33 minutes of swimming
  • 35 minutes of spinning

To me 38 minutes of burpees aren't worth any drink, I don't care how delicious it tastes. Thankfully my favorite coffee drink is an americano which is just espresso and water, which normally has less than 30 calories. Plus the caffeine will help keep you energized all day.
