Getting your adrenaline rush or extreme sports fix is quite easy to do in the Treasure Valley. Sure, you could pursue skydiving or even mountain climbing, but what if we told you that there's an even better way to beat the heat in Boise?

Grab a board and hit up Boise River Park

Surfs up! How some of us are just discovering that you can surf in Boise is beyond our comprehension but believe it or not - it's a thing. You may have heard about this before but in case you didn't, grab a surfboard and a wet suit. If you venture out to the Boise River off of Whitewater Park Boulevard behind Quinn's Pond, you can actually "hang ten"... sorry, we had to.

According to the website for the North End, you'll need to plan accordingly if you want to catch some waves:

The waves in the two man-made features change on a daily basis between a kayak focus (foamier) and a surf focus (glassier) — although the park is open to anyone all day. The surf wave is put in at noon Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and alternating Sundays (it’s surfing this week). The kayak wave takes over at noon the other days.

If we're being honest, it looks like an absolute blast even if you don't have the coordination or balance to make it "look cool." Even then, it's one heck of a way to beat the heat, right?

It's important to know what is and what isn't allowed along the Boise River. After all, you don't want to end your summer with a fine or a ticket, right?
