We asked for a mask-free, all events open and safe Summer. Well, the wish has been granted and might just be withdrawn.

There is another variant of COVID-19 which could mandate masks if cases continue to spike and the multiple fires with heat are bringing up back inside. The entire state of Idaho has been put on Red Flag Warning.

Idaho Red Flag Warning Details

The National Weather Service just issued a Red Flag Warning that could impact Boise and the surrounding areas. We have definitely seen abnormally high temperatures in Boise and just this morning hit 91 degrees at 7 a.m. That is the warmest since 1939 and this doesn't look to be cooling down.

We do have a lot of people moving in from all over and might not be aware of what these high heats bring. It might be clear, 100 degrees, and from nowhere comes the clouds. We can see devastating winds, lightning, and dangerous storms in the evening. This Red Flag Warning is forbidding the following:

  • No building, maintaining, or attending open campfires
  • No smoking out of or around vehicles, buildings,s or recreation sites
  • No smoking or fires within 3 feet of flammable materials.

These are stage 1 fire restrictions being announced. You can however have campfires in developed recreation sites with fire rings.

Idaho Fire Rings: Construction or device used to contain campfires and prevent them from spreading and turning into wildfires.

Fire danger is high across the board and that means blankets of smoke across Boise. You know it's bad when you can look straight at the sun and it doesn't bother your eyes. The Sun takes on golden red that just looked crazy and definitely unhealthy.

You can find more at the Idaho Fire Info Website or this map updating each fire.
