Reno Air Race Pilot Averts a Super Scary Disaster (Cockpit Video)

There was a big air race in Reno, Nevada This past weekend, and a pilot named Thom Richard was nearly killed while waiting to take off for the race. Thankfully he is safe, but he did record the very horrific and scary crash in his cockpit video.

Another plane taking off behind him and apparently didn't see that it wasn't safe for take off and he hit Richards plane from behind. The wing as you can see from the video, hit the back of the cockpit and if it wasn’t for the cockpit, his head would have been separated from his body…he was very very lucky. And luckily, nobody was hurt in the other plane either.

(He did sustain an injury to his hand, and there was damage to both planes, but fortunately that was it.)
