Quidditch, From Harry Potter Movies, Lives at BSU

We like to say that if you listen to Mike and Kate, you will learn something new every day.  And this is something new that we learned today.  Boise State has a Quidditch team.  You know, the game you saw in Harry Potter movies. Yes Quidditch!  BSU even won the Northwest league championship earlier this year. and here's the best part.

It's full contact.  No helmets or pads, just a broom that you hold between your legs, while you run down the field, trying to get a little ball into a hoop, or stop the other team from doing the same.  Apparently it's pretty intense, my son who plays rugby for ISU and used to play football here in the treasure valley said it's way to rough and intense for him to play, but he likes to watch.

We heard from a former BSU Quidditch player who says they play on a regular basis  on BSU campus on the intramural fields, so if you're into Harry Potter and want to watch a game or match, head to BSU campus
