For anyone who commutes early in the morning from Nampa using the Karcher Interchange you're going to want to hear this information. Starting on October 16th and 17th the Karcher Interchange will be closed as crews are working to install new overhead signs.

Even a bigger warning, Tuesday, October 16th, the Midland Blvd. bridge will be closed from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on the 17th. All pedestrians will be asked to use an alternate route due to the construction going on.

On Wednesday, October 17th the Exit 33 loop will be closed from 8:00 p.m. until 5 a.m. on the 18th again as crews will be installing overhead signs.

With all of these changes and closures the Idaho Transportation Department is hoping in early November to have improved traffic flow in the highly-traveled area according to KIVI.

After these projects are done drivers in the area will appreciate adding a second southbound lane to Midland Blvd. Adding a second left-turn lane from the Karcher bypass to southbound Midland Blvd. There will be upgraded sidewalks and traffic signals, as well as permanent removal of the westbound off-ramp which is currently Exit 33B.

Please remember to drive cautious in the work zone areas and give construction crews plenty of space to get their work done.
