If you're like us, you're probably still recovering from the lack of sleep you got the night of America's birthday. People all around the Treasure Valley were celebrating the Fourth of July with fireworks late into the night. Some of these were legal, others illegal but we could all agree that the fireworks didn't need to go as late as they did.

Our Boise firefighters were working around the clock

While many of us were getting irritated with the late fireworks, our first responders were all over the Treasure Valley putting out fires.

Thanks to the app called Pulse, we were able to look at what kind of calls Ada County emergency services responded to between the hours of 9 PM and 2 AM. In that time, we counted 76 total calls relating to fire and medical emergencies. That's 15 calls an hour or roughly a call every 4 minutes in that time span.

Let's look at the stats from this year's 4th of July between 9 PM and 2 AM and then thank a firefighter afterward according to the Pulse app. Please note that this is not official data from Ada County or any other city agencies.

Sparklers and forest fires aren't the hottest thing in the Treasure Valley. We can't talk about the amazing work our firefighters do without talking about the amazing charity work they do. Boise Fire raises money every year for the Boise Fire Community Assistance Fund and they do so in a steamy way with their annual calendar.

We have all of their greatest hits from that calendar for your viewing pleasure and don't forget you can support the assistance fund here.
