Some Older Oscar Voters Haven’t Even Seen ‘Get Out’ Because It’s ‘Not an Oscar Film’
Get Out was one of the best — and most important — films of 2017, and although it was near-universally adored, most assumed it would never land an Oscar nod. The Academy isn’t exactly known for being “woke,” and they certainly don’t take horror very seriously. (Not counting Black Swan, the last horror film to receive a nod was The Silence of the Lambs.) Stan Lee’s Attorney Denies Sexual Harassment and Groping Allegations
The tidal wave of sexual harassment and assault allegations that rocked Hollywood in recent months seemed to have taken a brief holiday vacation, but as evidenced by headlines (and the Golden Globes protest) over the past week, this long overdue reckoning will continue. The dam has effectively burst, leading many to wonder if older allegations may resurface now that Hollywood appears ready to listen and take action. And one of the names most frequently uttered on social media in recent weeks is that of director and producer Bryan Singer.
Adam Driver Just Dropped a Hint About Rey’s Heritage in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’
Rey’s heritage remains one of the biggest mysteries of the new Star Wars trilogy. Director Rian Johnson has previously confirmed that the identity of Rey’s parents will be revealed when The Last Jedi hits theaters this December, but the cast and crew are keeping particularly tight-lipped because, as Johnson has said, there’s another element of secrecy tied into that plot point. In a new interview, co-star Adam Driver may have given us another piece of the puzzle.
