Ladies, Ever Kicked A Guy’s Butt At Date Games?

I had a great date over the weekend, and it was his idea to go bowling.  We drank wine, we had dinner, and then we headed to the bowling alley for a spur-of-the-moment game.  He just happened to have his own ball and shoes in his car because he bowls in a league, so I was immediately intimidated and certain I was going to get my butt kicked.  But look what happened!  What in the heck?!

Miss Idaho Makes National News And Inspires Those With Diabetes

We've been talking about it for awhile now, but Miss Idaho's inspirational story is starting to make national headlines now.

The need for insulin for diabetic patients doesn't take time off for beauty pageants, and for Miss Idaho that meant wearing the insulin pump on her bikini during the swimsuit competition. Sierra Sandison talked to E! News about what inspired her to wear it in front of the cameras.

Can Life Be Simple For Moms? Nope!

So moms, how in the heck do you do it all?

If you're like me your day involves a wild frenzy of finding shoes, brushing hair, wiping syrup off faces, packing snacks, breaking up fights, reading books, finding the time to squeeze in a shower for yourself, and oh yeah...working!  And then we have to find time for relationships and grocery shopping and laundry and getting our eyebrows waxed.  When people ask us how we do it all, our best answer is, "I don't know!"  Somehow it's all set in motion and it just happens and we are along for the ride, doing our best to steer the ship.

Here's some advice that I ran across on simplifying your life as a mom, and also why I think it won't work!

Stress Makes Us Gain 11 Pounds Per Year

At least we have something to blame it on!

Since stress-eating usually involves comfort foods like pizza, cheeseburgers, and chocolate cake, that packs on about a pound a month and eleven pounds per year those experts say.

I was a fat kid and part of my stress now involves worrying about being fat again, so this bit of news makes me feel like the problem is compounded.  Stress makes me want to starve and eat at the same time!

It's not just the foods themselves that cause the weight gain.  There could be something else going on with stress that makes us add the LB's.

Old Folks Have the Most Confidence In Their Appearance

This may explain a lot, and it may be why Grandma rocks the polyester capris and flowery blouses so well.  (My grandma calls capris "coolots" which kinda does make them sound cooler.)

I read today that elderly people are the most confident in their appearance, and at ease with their looks.  Go Grandma!

If you're vacationing in the South this summer, that's the place that you'll run into the worst drivers.  Idaho is just the 37th worst.

I Think I Have Tech-Elbow

Does anyone else's elbow hurt?

Mine started hurting a few weeks ago and I passed it off as a freak injury that probably happened when I was picking up the 2-year old to give her a smooch and she wiggled free and twisted my funny bone.  But it won't go away and it's getting worse and I made a huge mistake in Googling my symptoms.

Just say no to medical Googling!  It's always a can of worms better left sealed up because it always comes back with horrible possibilities and then tells us to go to the doctor.  Maybe we should start with the doctor.  But I'm pretty sure he will tell me I have 90-degree-computer-and-smart-phone elbow.  You too?
