Last year, we told you about the 14 states that were approved for inflation relief checks thanks to a bill signed by Governor Brad Little in February of 2022. That bill provided a fluffy $350 million in tax rebates for residents of Idaho according to the Idaho State Tax Commission. Here we are in 2023 and more checks are on the way...

Stimulus Checks Are On The Way To Idaho

“The Tax Commission expects to send about 800,000 rebates totaling up to $500 million by the end of March 2023,” Idaho State Tax Commission officials said in a press release shared by Idaho Capital Sun back in October.

According to a report from Yahoo:

The amount of the rebate is the greater of 10% of a taxpayer’s 2020 income tax liability, $300 for single filers or $600 for joint filers.

Expect Backlash

As expected, some people were not happy to see the news of the government forking out more money for relief. When Governor Brad Little gave an update on the relief back in November, Idahoans on Twitter didn't hold back:

How are you feeling about these checks making their way to Idaho? Should we discontinue the handout and focus our resources elsewhere? I would love to hear your thoughts here!
