We all think of cats as aloof and as a pet not really protective, but this amazing video proves me and everything everyone has ever thought about cats wrong.

Four-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo was playing on a bike in his driveway in Bakersfield, California, when the neighbor's dog attacked and yanked him to the ground.  But suddenly the family cat came flying in, body-checked the dog, and chased it off.  And the family's surveillance cameras got everything.

Here's the 911 call from the dog's owner.  You can hear the boy and his mother screaming in the background.  (The family had at least three different cameras mounted on the front of their house, so you can see the dog escaping from its yard and sneaking up on the boy from behind a minivan.

Jeremy had to get his leg stitched up, but he'll be fine.  The dog is being observed for rabies, but then it's going to be put down.)
