These 6 Unique Idaho Floating Homes Make for the Perfect Lake Vacation
When it comes to vacationing in Idaho, there are some really unique rental locations.
The Big Idaho Potato Hotel is the one that quickly found itself on every travel blogger's list of the coolest Airbnbs in every state. Completed in 2019, the potato-shaped hotel was turned into a tiny house by Kristie Wolfe, one of the original members of the Tater Team that traveled around the country with it while it was the potato on the back of the original Great Big Idaho Potato Truck.
Not to stray from potato stereotypes, The Spud Drive-In in Driggs has two cabins on their property that people can rent during or outside of movie season. Unfortunately, movie season will start later than normal this year. The screen that has entertained guests for seven decades was blown down and destroyed during an early April windstorm where gusts reached up to 55 mph. The Mumm family, who owns and operates the theater, plans to rebuild the legendary drive-in between now and the beginning of June. They're looking for a licensed builder to be part of the process.
There's an entire park of fancy covered wagons you can rent at a hot springs resort in Downey, ID.
Or this really charming restored train car in Deary.
But maybe, you were born for that lake life. Then these are worth checking into as you plan your vacations for Summer 2022. These unique Airbnb rentals skip right past lakefront lodging. They literally put you ON the lake! If you live for swimming, kayaking or even just enjoying a sunrise over the water while you sip on your coffee, these are worth checking out!
