The City of Boise Considering Buying This Land for Affordable Housing
There is no arguing there is a shortage of housing and affordable housing at that. The city of Boise is eyeing some land that was once going to be a gas station.
According to the Idahostatesman.com Maverik Inc. is looking to sell the land at the corner of West Franklin Road and South Orchard Street where the Boise City Council is potentially looking to buy. It would cost Boise $1.855 million. and is 4.73-acres, also the area where the historic Franklin School once presided. Maverik bought the land around 2015.
Now this is just a possibility it sounds like a multi development area including retail. There was talk of a library as well as housing. There is already a Fred Meyers across the street, so the location has a lot of potential and offers a lot for housing.
