There have been two reported road rage incidents in Boise in the past week. Is there something in the air here? On Thursday Brandon Thomas was arrested on one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Exactly one week earlier, Robert Hower of Boise was arrested and charged similarly with aggravated assault.

Hower got out of his vehicle after police say another driver behind him had honked for him to move forward. He pulled his car over and got out with a handgun and started yelling at the car that honked.

The second traffic dispute involving Thomas, occurred on Interstate 84 near the intersection of Meridian Road and W. Overland Avenue. A driver called in to Ada County dispatch and reported that a man in a black Subaru sedan pointed a handgun at him while driving. Meridian police were able to locate the driver and found a loaded Glock handgun in the car leading to his arrest.

I'll admit, I myself am still getting used to the driving style here - every city is unique and has it's own driving quirks. There are times when I definitely cuss out a driver here and there. Mini road rage disputes happen all the time I’m sure, but what’s the reason to pull out an actual gun on someone? Just a few weeks ago I wrote about how Boise was actually ranked as one of the top 5 BEST cities to drive in. After this past week, I'm not sure if that's still the case.
