The City Of Boise and the Treasure Valley should be very proud. The girls and boys from the softball and baseball leagues are representing Idaho big time.

Much like football in the south, baseball is a way of life in the Treasure Valley. Families and the community rally around the sport and those who play it. Boise has had not one, not two, but three teams representing in the biggest of events of the sport around the country in the last few weeks. The North Boise All-Stars defeated a team from Montana 13-9 earlier this week to advance to the semi finals of the Little League Baseball Northwest Regional. Boise plays Washington — an 8-2 winner over Oregon late Monday — in a semifinal at 1 p.m. MT Thursday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Although the ladies from East Boise didn't make it past their initial game in Florida for the Babe Ruth U-12 World Series and the boys couldn't pull the win in the Cal Ripken Major/60’ World Series they showed major grit. Mix 106 celebrates all of you and your families. The Boys and Girls of Summer really showed passion and heart taking the hopes of Idaho on their backs. Great job all. - JD
