Camping season is winding down for most in the Gem State as overnight temperatures this week will drop into the thirties for the first time in months.
October doesn't keep everyone out of the mountains, and a beanie, jacket, and warm meal by the fire is all some need to endure the cooler Idaho fall temperatures this time of year.
The last time I pulled my trailer out of town for the weekend with my family was just 14 days ago to Shoshone for the annual Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering. It was hardly off-grid, but it was still camping, complete with evening fire and the smells of meat roasting outdoors.

This mystery outdoor chef shared his meal with us through an October 2 upload to YouTube on his channel @highdesertadventures208. According to the post details, he is spending 72 hours camping solo in Lake Cascade State Park, which is located deep within the Boise National Forest near the community of Belvidere, approximately 80 miles north of Boise.

Some people who come across this video might think, 'so what, it's a guy making steak,' and you'd be right. The real draw of this video for me was how damn hungry it made me. You can tell when he cuts through that meat that it's beautifully cooked.
Not to be outdone was the dessert choice. I mean, how about that s'more presentation?
