There's this overwhelming feeling that in 2023, you have to be doing very well for yourself to be able to afford the current cost of living in Boise. Own a house and two cars? You're definitely a rocket scientist. Paid off your student loans and you make your rent payment every month? You've won several lotteries.

Jokes aside, times are tough! Housing costs are through the actual roof, the job market isn't exactly ideal right now, and life just feels...expensive. We adore living in the Treasure Valley, but we'd be lying if we said it's easy to make it work financially.

Do we have any solutions? Sure don't! But do we have a headcount of how many millionaires reside in Idaho? Absolutely!

This is a real number from the Wall Street Journal, and it blew us away:

There are over 30,000 millionaires currently living in Idaho

Yes. Thirty thousand millionaires.

Thing to know, this is based on their "investible assets," so this doesn't mean 30,000 people across Idaho have $1,000,000 or more burning a hole in their collective pockets. What it does mean, however, is there are absolutely a lot of wealthy people who call Idaho home in 2023.

If it's Sun Valley, Eagle, Ketchum, Coeur d'Alene, or even our beloved Boise, your friends and neighbors are quite possibly sitting on a big stack of cash somewhere.

Now that we think about it, this might be the perfect time to ask them if you can borrow $20. You know, since they're millionaires and all. They're good for it.
