It's hard to disagree that Idaho is a beautiful state with so many sights to see it'll make you dizzy. (If you're not from Idaho, or have never been, yes there's a lot more to see here than potatoes.)

While it's not uncommon to see Idaho at the top of travel lists all over the internet, we're happy to report that even GayTravel.com has some incredible things to say about the Gem State!

Clearly, and we agree, the best thing about Idaho is the gorgeous scenery:

Nature lovers can’t go wrong in the Gem State — few places can compete with Idaho’s vast tracts of unspoiled land, including the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area, the largest contiguous area of protected wilderness in the continental United States.

Again, we agree with the below!

Idaho’s gay scene is propped up by a number of unique cultural organizations and events, including Boise’s Idaho Gay Rodeo Association (yes, you read that right!) and Boise Pridefest, which brought together more than 50,000 participants in 2018.

There's lots more that the LGBTQIA+ travel website recommends, so make sure you check them out.

If you're not a country music fan, you may not be aware of the growing queer movement within the genre. While it's certainly not the norm (yet), there are country music artists who've come out as LGBTQIA+, and some of them have even written anthems about it. We're also happy to report that some straight country allies have released songs in support of their queer brothers and sisters.

We're Here, We're Queer, We're Country: 20 Songs That Share a LGBTQ+ Perspective

LGBTQ+ artists have achieved more visibility in recent years, but they still make up an under-heard, marginalized portion of the genre as a whole. As stigmas lessen and activists work for equality in the genre and beyond, more and more artists are putting out songs that speak specifically to an LGBTQ+ perspective. Here are 20 great songs that tell that story.
