Nobody was surprised that Ada County was the Idaho Supreme Court's decision.
The decision outlined that the following would take place:
- Kohberger's trial will be held in Boise, Idaho at the Ada County Courthouse
- District Judge Steven Hippler will now oversee the trial
- Bryan Kohberger will be transferred to the custody of the Ada County Sheriff
Kohberger has been house at the Latah County Jail since his arrest--which is in the basement of the county courthouse.
Now, an early morning and very secret operation brought him by plane from Moscow, Idaho to Boise, Idaho.
Kohberger is now housed at the Ada County Jail and his updated booking photo is below:
Authorities shared that getting him to Boise by plane was the quickest and safest way to do so.
Before, he would just be walked upstairs for his hearings. Now, expect local police to have elaborate, secret, and secure plans for his travel from Ada County Jail to the Ada County Courthouse, which is located in downtown Boise. These two locations have about 5 miles between them.
No matter your opinion of the venue change request, there's no arguing that the public and the media have been aggressively involved in spreading information, searching for leaks, and discussing 'theories'. For example, this video mysteriously released to several crime groups online seems to show patio footage from a home near the murder scene.
