It's football time in the Treasure Valley--local high schools have battled it out for state titles and now all eyes are on the collegiate ranks, as Boise State has earned itself a lot of love--and hate--ahead of the first ever College Football Playoff.

With a top ranked Heisman candidate in Ashton Jeanty and the wins stacking up, it almost feels as though the Broncos can do no wrong.

The team, however, keeps winning by just a hair.

Last week, Boise State was getting roasted online by fans and critics who believe that larger programs deserve the coveted 4-seed and first-round bye, which will put them right into the quarterfinals.

Take a look at how Boise State is being ranked in the first-ever College Football Ranking bracket, this week!

This placement is absolutely amazing for the Broncos!

What does this all mean? Well, it means that the 'committee' that is seeding these teams is really fond of the Broncos. The Big 12 is getting passed up by Boise State who represents the Mountain West Conference.

If the season were to end today--they'd be sitting pretty with a BYE into round two of the college football playoff.

Another interesting note: Boise State would be playing in the very familiar Fiesta Bowl. Potentially against Arizona State, which would be a virtual home game for them.

It's important to note, UNLV who is climbing the rankings, will likely be Boise State's matchup in the conference championship. A loss there would spoil a lot.
