Boise State Football Jumps Up 4 Spots in National Rankings
It's fair to say that the hype is real on the Boise State football team these days and there is blue and orange everywhere in the Treasure Valley.
What's so different this year?
It seems that ever year in Boise, the 'football hype' is real at the beginning of the season. The difference maker right now is that the team is not only meeting, but exceeding expectations.
Behind the charge of Ashton Jeanty, the team's star running back, Boise State is gaining attention nationally.
The attention is coming during the right time and the right season. For the first time ever, college football will be holding a 12-team playoff matchup that guarantees a single spot for one 'non-power conference' team such as Boise State.
The only way to secure that spot? The Broncos must be the highest ranked of all non-power conference teams.
After the publishing of the latest AP Top 25 rankings, the Broncos are in great shape.
Last week, they cracked into the Top 25 for the first time in 4-years. After a big win at home against Washington State, they're now up to #21 in the nation and yes--they're leading all non-power conference teams at the moment.
If the 12-team playoff were to be set today, the Broncos would be a lock.
On the Broncos' heels? UNLV, coming in at #25 and assuming that both teams keep on winning, their scheduled matchup on October 25th is going to be one of the most anticipated games in the nation.
See the complete rankings going into this week, HERE.
Hoping to make the next home game at Boise State? They'll be playing Utah State on Saturday, October 5th and if you decide to get off of the couch and into the crowd, here are some things you should plan to leave at home...
