More Snow On The Way For Southwest Idaho Tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will go into effect at 5 pm MST today (02/28) and run through tomorrow (03/01) until 5 am MST. You can expect a total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts. The national weather service says that "snow will be showery in nature and accumulations will be highly variable." 

Some areas in the advisory will have little to no snow accumulation, with wind gusting as high as 40 mph in places. You can expect slippery road conditions that impact evening and morning driving commutes with reduced visibility in the heavier showers. You're encouraged to slow down and use caution. 

The Weather Channel's hourly predictions make snow possible after 8 pm and continue throughout the overnight hours. They also predict cloudy skies early tomorrow, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon with a high near 44F and an overnight low of 23F.  

The freezing temperatures Wednesday night after a warm day could lead to freezing road conditions, and you should continue to slow down and use caution when driving through the Treasure Valley. 

Last night (02/27), Bogus Basin reported 5" of snow in an hour between 7 pm and 8 pm. They continued to get dumped on this morning and more of the same this evening into tomorrow.
