Home Opener This Weekend For BSU, and Washington State Coach Doesn’t Dig On The Blue Turf

The Broncos will finally take to the Smurf Turf this Saturday, and while the rest of the City of Boise is stoked for the game, Washington State Coach Mike Leach is not a fan of this famous part of BSU.

The iconic blue turf was installed before the '86 season and while most teams who come to town can adjust quickly to the different color of playing field. Well the WSU coach has expressed his distaste for the BLUE and says he feels bad for the coaches who over the years have had to stare at the turf every single day. Poo Poo...Maybe he was joking though because he was quoted in the same breath saying...

I think animal-rights groups should keep an eye on it so ducks don’t break their necks trying to dive in.

Although this isn't a "new" statement..I've had many friends from out of state say the same thing, we love our Blue Turf and love our Boise State Bronco's. Boise State battles it out with WSU this Saturday kick off is 8pm at Albertson's Stadium. - JD
