In a Facebook post inviting people to shop for Christmas now and save big, the store announced that its final day is Saturday, August 17.

After 12 years in business, Penny Lane Toys, a special toy store that got its start in Eagle before moving to the North End, is saying goodbye to it's loyal customers. According to the Facebook event, all toys, games, chapter books, puzzles, summer, dress up, building toys and more are marked down by at least 25% off.

Part of the charm of the local toy store is the fact that a parent in a rush could stop in, pick out a gift for their child's friend and have it gift wrapped on the house before dropping them off at the party. Most of the staff were moms, who were always willing to lend a helping hand to parents struggling to find that perfect toy or book.

Penny Lane Toys moved to its current location at 2913 W State Street in 2016 from it's previous location in the same plaza as Shu's Idaho Running Company and Cloud 9 Brewery. The current location was part of a promotion ACHD launched to encourage people to shop at the local businesses impacted by roadwork on on State Street.

The store's original owner and founder, Jeff Leslie, passed away suddenly from a heart attack earlier this summer.  His mom, Sandy, still works at the store.  We're so sad to see the family go through such a difficult year of goodbyes, so if you are looking to do a little of your holiday shopping early...stop down, relive all those sweet memories you and your kids have of your visits to Penny Lane and give Sandy a big hug.
