Police are investigating a carjacking reported near the Touchmark retirement center in Meridian yesterday.

An 89-year-old woman was driving away from the retirement center, when a man popped up from the back seat and told her that he needed her car!

She gave him the car, and he gave the woman her water bottle and cane before driving off.

The car is a 2000 four-door gold Mercury Sable with Idaho license plate 1A PX778.

Police say there's a strong possibility the carjacker is Marco Romero, a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at the Cherry Lane Apartments in Meridian on Tuesday night. The police say her description of him would fit.
