While new health insurance plans won't go into effect until Tuesday, January 1, deadlines to sign up for health insurance plans are creeping up. Including the deadline to apply for health insurance through 'Your Health Idaho' exchange. If you're interesting in using 'Your Health Idaho,' you're running out of time, you only have until the end of the day on Saturday, December 15 to apply.

According to the Boise Weekly, in the past years, the number of Idahoans who have used 'Your Health Idaho' has remained pretty consistant. "In 2016, nearly 106,000 Idahoans signed up for coverage for 2017. At the end of that year, 104,000 Idahoans applied for insurance through the exchange for coverage through 2018."

According to a report by the Kaiser Family Foundation there are about 40% of Idahoans (more than 35,000) who would qualify to obtain an insurance plan at a 'bronze-level' for FREE after an applicable tax credit. Executive Director of 'Your Health Idaho' Pat Kelly said (according to the Boise Weekly) "90 percent of people who apply would be eligible for some tax credits for purchasing health insurance, and most would save 80 percent on their monthly premiums."
