Bye bye, signing stupid receipts and hello freedom!

There's nothing worse. You walk into Target to buy two things. You walk to the register with 30. After paying with your credit card, you have to wait for the stupid printer to print the stupid receipt so you can sign it with your stupid signature. NO LONGER!

Thanks to an effort from Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, those companies will no longer require your signature on a receipt from a credit card transaction. Why? Because credit cards are so much more secure these days, that a signature does diddly squat as far as securing your identity.

Here's the thing. It's up to individual retailers if they wish to require your signature on a purchase or not. So don't be surprised if you're still signing at your local coffee shop, food carts, etc. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go buy a bunch of stuff I don't need at Target.
