Yes. They still make postcards. And I have a very good reason why you need to go find one and buy it.

Catching up on my reading over the holidays, I came across this article in Guideposts written by a military vet. She found a website called Postcrossing.org that arranges for people to receive postcards from all over the world.

I have a postcard from every single place I've traveled. I buy them and then send them to myself so I have a postmark from that place as well. I put them in a book so one day my grandkids can see all the cool places Grandma traveled to.

If you love getting mail from far away places (that's not junk mail) then you need to check out Postcrossing.org. There are over 500,000 users in 214 countries! All you need to do is create a profile. When you're ready to send a postcard, the site shows you a member profile with an address and a postcard ID. The recipient logs the ID and then you become eligible to receive a postcard. What fun! Imagine sharing all the neat places in Idaho with someone on the other side of the planet! Or traveling somewhere and buying a postcard for a stranger across the county. I love this!
