Now that the Scripps National Spelling Bee is over for another year, let's delve into our spelling deficiencies shall we? Take a look at some of the most misspelled words from each state. What word do you think us Idahoans misspell the most? When you see it, will you know how to pronounce it?

Idaho's most mispeled werd is desert.  As in middle of the desert and dying of thirst, not I'm going to have a big helping of dessert.

Google pulled data from its search trends to reveal the top word most people have trouble spelling in each state.

Using search queries that began with "how to spell" and then the word in question, Google was able to determine the most troublesome words for people in all 50 states

They analyzed millions of searches to figure out the word that people in every state have the most trouble spelling.  And here are five highlights . . .

Idahoans shouldn't feel to badly about desert, we aren't alone in misspelling.

1.  More states struggle with "desert" than any other word . . . it only has one "s."  If you add a second one, it becomes dessert. In addition to Idaho, it's the most misspelled word in California, Connecticut and Indiana.

2.  People in Alaska have trouble spelling "Hawaii."

3.  People in Arizona and New Hampshire have trouble spelling "diarrhea."..as in I just pooped myself with diarrhea when I saw how you spelled diarea...

4.  People in Arkansas and Utah have trouble spelling "leprechaun."  Apparently there must be a lot of people looking for the pot of gold in those states

5.  The state that should be the most embarrassed is Ohio . . . where the word people struggle with is "banana."  How do you even mess up that one?
