We Love the Warm Weather and So Do the Bugs

Sunny and in the 70s most of the week.  Woohoo!  But people aren't the only ones who get excited about the warm weather.  

I've noticed more bugs at my house lately, thanks mostly to my girls who love to play with them and pet them.  Ick!  At some point in my life I outgrew the desire to have creepy animals crawl on me, and I stopped wanting to bring them into the house.  But my girls constantly tell me they have a new pet that they just "brought inside and put somewhere in the shag rug," and then I spend the next hour sifting through the shag with a can of Raid.

The Idaho Statesman points out the increase in bugs happening now in the Treasure Valley, because of the warm spring.  They mention spiders, beetles, ants and termites, which seem to be pro-creating at warp speed right now.  Ewww.

It's a good time to be in the pest control business...or have three kids who will go out into the backyard and gather up the critters for you.  They just need to be reminded that the shag rug is not a very good habitat for the creepy crawlies.
