A lot of wildfires scorched Idaho last summer, including a couple big ones here in the Treasure Valley.  Here’s a little something we can all do this weekend to help rehabilitate our beautiful state!

Idaho Fish and Game are heading up a campaign to help revitalize our scorched lands in Southwest Idaho.

Volunteers will help plant thousands of sagebrush and bitter-brush seeds this Saturday, April 2nd here in the Boise area.  All tools and seeds will be provided.  They just need you!

The different planting locations include areas burned in the Soda Fire south of Boise, The Boise River Wildlife Management Area, and the Squaw Butte area near Emmett.  The more people that volunteer, the easier the project will be to finish.  Getting these places growing again is crucial for our big game species, birds, and other animals.

9am start time for volunteers.  If interested, call Michael Young or Karie Pappani at 208-327-7095 or email them at michael.young@idfg.idaho.gov or karie.pappani@idfg.idaho.gov
