Volunteering at the Idaho Food Bank for Backpack Buddies

Billy and I were able to join the Idaho Food Bank and volunteer packing packs for the Backpack Buddy program.

The Idaho Food bank is such an extraordinary place that is a crucial part of the state of Idaho's well-being for those that need help in many departments. According to Idahofoodbank.org Last year, The Idaho Foodbank’s Backpack program distributed over 63,000 backpacks to school children who need access to nutritious food on the weekends. As a result of the help they receive through the Backpack program, children come to school Monday morning nourished and ready to learn.

It was amazing to see the way this program works and how many volunteer hours it takes to run. The food used is carefully chosen with many important factors in mind. The school outreach is well organized and helped by many school staff members.
