US Capital on Lockdown After Reports of Gun Fire This Afternoon

The US Capital in Washington DC was placed on lock down after news of possible gun fire in the Main Visitor's Center Complex was reported. Workers and visitors were told to take shelter until the incident calmed down. The White House was also placed under the mandatory lock down to ensure the safety of the staff as well as visitors.

* UPDATE *  One police officer was shot and the shooter was taken in to custody. No other reports of injuries at the site or around the Capital Mall has been reported.
