If you're a Food TV addict like me, you love food news!  And you appreciate foodies and creative cooks who are intentional about what's on the plate, and who care about being innovative and healthy.

Two Boise chefs are in the running for a prestigious award, and we'll find out this spring if they win.

Kris Komori is the head chef at State and Lemp, and Moshit Mizrachi-Gabbitas is a baker at Janjou Patisserie.  Both are semifinalists for the 2016 James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards.

Komori is in the running for Best Chef: Northwest, and Mizrachi-Gabbitas is a semifinalist in the Outstanding Baker category.

Have you tried those restaurants?  Love 'em?  There's a lot of buzz not only about these two chefs, but about Boise's future as a creative food hub too.  Fresh ingredients and innovative new dishes from the Treasure Valley are getting noticed, along with unique and inspiring atmospheres at some of our favorite restaurants.  Boise is a good place to be for foodies.

Boise Weekly says this the first time a Boisean has been nominated for a James Beard award since Richard Langston at Boise's Cafe Vicino was a semifinalist in 2014.  Finalists will be announced March 15th.  Good luck you two!
