Dry windy conditions have set the stage for the Soda Fire to grow. There are several road closures and some residents are being threatened. The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office issued a civil emergency, with an evacuation order in effect for residents west of U.S. 95 from Market Road to Cemetery Road south of Homedale. The Jump Creek Recreational area is in the process of being closed to the public. It is advised that campers in the Murphy area be aware of their surroundings on account of the active fire behavior. The current size of the fire is 120,000 acres and growing.

HWY 95 IS NOW CLOSED FROM MARSING TO JORDAN VALLEY. STRUCTURES ARE STILL THREATENED SOUTH OF HOMEDALE.

REYNOLDS CREEK ROAD IS CLOSED. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS AREA.
