This Is Why I’m Wearing A Mustache This Weekend

A mustache ride may sound dirty to some, but when it's a bicycle ride benefiting the Idaho Fallen Firefighter Foundation, I say sign me up and let's ride!

If you have been on Boise Greenbelt near Shoreline Drive then you have passed the bronze  fallen firefighter sculpture and wall that honors Idaho's fallen firefighters.

On Saturday, there is a fundraising bike ride called the 2014 Mustache Memorial Ride  that raises money for the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Foundation. When I heard that I get to ride my cruiser bike, dress up, wear a mustache and drink beer all for a good cause, I couldn't resist! You had me at bike! The girls and I are currently working on our costumes (not required) and the question keeps coming up, "What goes with a mustache?" Nothing is the answer to that, especially if you are a woman. But Saturday is not about looking good, it's about raising money for a great cause!

The Idaho Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a non-profit organization that recognizes line-of-duty deaths of career and volunteer structural firefighters in the State of Idaho. The IFFF provides support to the families of firefighters who are seriously injured or have died in the line of duty, and offers a variety of programs to support the health and safety of firefighters statewide.~www.idahofff.org

We will start at one of my favorite places in Boise,The Drink, because it literally sits on the water! We'll have a few libations and then we ride! We of course will stop for some brewskees along the way, pay our respects at The Idaho Fallen Firefighter Memorial Park on the greenbelt off Shoreline Drive and then end up at the Grove Plaza for live music, food trucks and more beer!

This is definitely something you should join me for on Saturday afternoon! If you are one of those people who is always saying, "Where do you meet people in this town?" This is that place! We will be doing something fun, being social and raising money for a great cause! Plus they are giving away prizes. How can you resist a chance to win a prize while wearing a mustache?!

Best Traditional Mustache aka Cop Stache
Best Unlimited Mustache aka James Hetfield of Metallica Worst Mustache
Best Female Mustache (glue it, draw it, or grow it.)

Also prizes for:
Best Costume
Best Bicycle
The Spirit of Mustache Ride (that individual who embraces the ride to its fullest)
