The Real Way You Can Tell Spring Has Sprung In The Treasure Valley
I know there are many different ways to determine when the season changes (outside of the official calendar), but I find one definite sign that Spring is here: We use our patios.
My neighborhood, probably much like yours, was buzzing with the sound of lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and patio furniture scraping across the concrete as set up began up and down my street. Kids were once again bouncing up and down on trampolines that had been taken inside for the winter. I saw a number of neighbors out biking as I rode a couple rides as well.
I love this time of year. It's not too hot, not too cold, and we once again start to enjoy the beauty of this amazing place we live.
Last year, my wife and I divorced and I had my own place for the first time in 13 years. It was a strange process in some ways, and a very exciting one in others. My backyard was one of the draws to my place, and I decided to take advantage of it. I bought a patio set, got my grill situated, and then invested in one of the best relaxation tools I've ever used; My hammock.
Setting up the hammock and enjoying a few minutes to relax yesterday was amazing. Last year I decided that no matter how hectic or "behind schedule" I was, I would attempt to spend 15 minutes without my phone or any distractions, and just chill in the hammock. It was awesome. I noticed a difference in how I felt, so I'm very excited to have it set up again.
Hope your Spring is off to a great start. This weekend was a great kickoff at my place.
