The Meridian Food Bank has helped thousands of families put food on the table when times are tough.

They rely completely on donations and with the new school year starting, they're asking for help from the community.

They’ve had a 21% drop in donations during the first six months of this year compared to last year. And 21% is a lot…that’s a lot of money.

Especially, when it costs $80,000 a year to run. Food donations are definitely always welcome, but cash donations make a big difference though because then pantry leaders can buy the food items that are most needed.

They can also work to buy things like peanut butter, for instance, in bulk at a better price than we would pay at the grocery store.
