The Idaho Miss Amazing Pageant provides opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment.

For five years the Idaho Miss Amazing Pageant has been celebrating the multi-faceted identities, valuable abilities and strengths of girls and women with disabilities. When the pageant first began, there were just 25 participants. This year the number has grown to 83.

Some people have negative opinions on pageants. But, you can't deny that the Idaho Miss Amazing is so much more than a pageant.

It is a platform for girls and women with disabilities to share their abilities and ambitions. It is an experience that inspires all people to empower themselves and each other. By encouraging its participants to dream big and reach their full potential, the Idaho Miss Amazing Pageant proves that the world is a much better place when the talents and ambitions of all people are celebrated and valued.

The pageant director, Jennifer Claassen, said the goal of the event is to build self-confidence in the girls who participate.

The Idaho Miss Amazing pageant will showcase girls with special needs this weekend at the Nampa Civic Center. Show your support for these amazing girls by attending the event this weekend.

No ticket is needed for the talent portion on Friday, April 8 at 6 p.m., but a $5 donation is asked at the door. (Doors open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.)
