I was in Anchorage, Alaska for the ceremonial start of the Iditarod Dog Sled Race. This truly is the last great race!

There are 78 teams in this year's Iditarod. The ceremonial start was Saturday and is 11 miles through downtown Anchorage. The official start was yesterday in Fairbanks with 1049 miles to Nome.  Each musher is staggered and start 2 minutes apart. It took 3 hours to see all the teams take off. I was in awe of these dog teams!
