If you let pop culture historians tell it, Taylor Swift is nothing if not vengeful, and she appears to have given them another example with "Look What You Made Me Do," her first new single in over two years and a potential clapback at Kanye West.

What is Swift clapping back at, you ask? Well, you remember the time Yeezy interrupted Swift as she accepted her first ever MTV Video Music Award about eight years ago. And then last year, he claimed responsibility for Swift's success on his The Life of Pablo cut, "Famous," and Swift made it known she wasn't cool with it.

Kanye in turn explained that he had asked Swift if the lyrics were okay beforehand. Swift claimed that Kanye didn't, and months later, Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian leaked a video of Yeezy spitting part of the "Famous" lyrics to Swift on the phone, with Kanye seemingly omitting the word "bitch" from the final version of the controversial lyric. Swift noted that Kanye didn't include the "bitch" part of his lyrics, but for the most part, the internet didn't care.

In the ensuing days, Swift was dragged all over social media and, in a trend seemingly started by Kim K., she was called a snake over and over again. Swift began the campaign for her new album, titled Reputation, with videos of a striking snake. Coincidence? We think not.

"Look What You Made Me Do" plays out like a much less playful, more decisive and vindictive version of "Bad Blood," with Swift reveling in the idea of vengeance as opposed to sorting through her feelings on a failed relationship. "Bad Blood" found Swift singing "Look what you've done," while the former track, which sounds an awful lot like Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy," is obviously called "Look What You Made Me Do." See the difference?

The alleged jabs at Kanye pop out in the first verse: "I don't like your little games/Don't like your tilted stage/The role you made me play of the fool," Swift sings on the track. If you recall, Kanye used a titled stage on his Saint Pablo tour, and Swift obviously believes the rapper distorted his story about her approving of his "Famous" lyrics. "No, I don't like you, I don't like your perfect crime/How you laugh when you lie, you said the gun was mine, Isn't cool, no, I don't like you," she continues.

Fans are also latching on to clues that Taylor might be digging at Kanye in multiple ways. One viral tweet connects the release date of her new album, Nov. 10, to the day Kanye's mother Donda West died (No.v 10, 2007), and many have noted how the font on her merch looks a lot like the font Kanye used for his Saint Pablo tour merch.
