Our final day on the Pacific Crest Trail we hiked through Crater Lake National Park to our car at the north boundary. A trail angel left us a surprise at the end!

On day 6, we had what thru hikers call a "nero day." We only hiked a few miles while spending the rest of the day enjoying Crater Lake.

Day 5 on the Pacific Crest Trail was a big day for us! We hiked into Crater Lake National Park and got to eat a decent meal and more importantly have a beer!

Day 4 on the Pacific Crest Trail was awesome! We woke up in a lush magical land to the sound of frogs and ended our day underneath a waterfall.

My third day on the PCT was the hardest day I had all week. The physical part is a given, but I mentally messed myself up. Thank goodness I had beautiful scenery.

The second day of my backpacking trip on the Pacific Crest Trail took us into the Sky Lakes Wilderness area which had stunning high mountain lakes.

I spent 7 days on a section of the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon. It was physically the hardest thing I've ever done, while at the same time, one of the most amazing. Over the next week I'm going to share pictures from each day.

I'm getting ready to hike the Pacific Crest Trail next week and being a drought year, water is a big concern. We have an emergency item for our packs if we run out of water, but we have no idea what this item actually is.

Part of my 2015 New Year's Resolution is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. Monday night was step 1 in my long journey.
