If you haven't signed up yet to be a part of the upcoming Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, that's OK!

We would still love to have you be a part of our team, the MIX 106 Peeka-Boo-Bees!

Online registration is closed now, but in-person registration will be available at packet pick-up on May 9th and 10th as well as on Race Day at the registration tent.

If you can't make it, or you're unable to run/walk in this year's race, please consider donating just a little something to help us reach goal!

More than 40,000 women and men are still dying of breast cancer every year in the U.S. This is a number we have never been willing to accept, and one that we will change with our BOLD GOAL: reducing the current number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50% by 2026. To make this goal a reality we need to harness the support of our community now more than ever. Money raised at the Boise Race for the Cure directly impacts those in our community through the Komen Idaho Montana community grant program. The more money that is raised locally, the more impact we can have in our community. (http://komenidahomontana.org/)

There are thousands of women in the Treasure Valley that are unable to get life-saving mammograms. These funds raised help make that happen!

Important Statistics and Why We Participate:

  • 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer
  • 87% of those diagnosed have NOT had a history of breast cancer in their family
  • 2000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States this year
  • The 5 year survival rate for those who are diagnosed early is 98%!!!!!  It’s all about early detection and that’s where the Komen Race for the Cure funds are directed.

I hope you will be a part of our MIX 106 Peeka-Boo-Bees team! I'm putting the little one in a stroller and walking for my friends and family, who I am proud to say are survivors!!
