It's been an incredible season for the Boise State Broncos, but the volleyball team ended its run Saturday night in the NCAA tournament.

Here's how it happened.

The Broncos beat Western Kentucky in straight sets Friday night to move on to the round of 32 on Saturday at host site Stanford.  The Broncos had to face the home team, Stanford Cardinal, on Saturday night and lost that one in straight sets, 25-11, 25-22, 25-18.

Boise State ends the season with a 26-7 record, and prior to the loss in the NCAA tournament, had a 15-match win streak going.  That's hard to do!  The team will be strong next year too, losing one senior, middle blocker and co-captain Maddy O’Donnell.

The Idaho Statesman points out that Sierra Nobley, the Mountain West player of the year, paced the Broncos with 12 kills and 12 digs Saturday, and even the Stanford coach was impressed.  Setter Jayme-Lee Bulda had 27 assists and four digs.

Congrats on a great season Broncos!  You deserve high fives and hugs for all of the team an individual accomplishments this season, and there's nothing wrong with exiting the tournament losing to a good Stanford team.  You rock.  We'll look forward to another good season next year, right along with ya.
