As a state with a lot of outdoor recreation, a passion for sports, and a desire for great deals, hearing that Sports Authority is likely closing up shop in Idaho is disappointing for many of us.

Sports Authority had announced last week that they planned to close 140 stores and attempt to reorganize the company to head off bankruptcy.  This week, they notified the court that they would not be able to make that plan happen and would instead pursue a sale or liquidation.

It's likely that the chains entire 450 stores across the country will be sold off or liquidated and closed.

This will impact a few stores across the state, in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho Falls, Lewiston, and here in the Treasure Valley with their Boise store at 1301 N. Milwaukee St.
